OSAGE CITY — Carol A. Thompson died Monday, March 7, 2022, at Peterson’s Assisted Living, Osage City. She was 88.

Carol Aileen Patterson was born Dec. 22, 1933, in Melvern, the daughter of Alfred and Blanche (Lumsden) Patterson. She graduated from Melvern High School in 1952.

She was joined in marriage to Howard Orville Thompson May 3, 1952. To this union, three children were born, Scott, Troy and Clark.

Carol was a homemaker for her family, and was a very active member of the First United Methodist Church, Osage City. She was a member of United Methodist Women, and helped out everywhere she could for the church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Carol will be forever remembered by her husband, Howard; her three sons, Scott Thompson (Diana), Troy Thompson (Kym), and Clark Thompson (Lori), all of Osage City; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 11, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at the Osage City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Osage City United Methodist Women and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
