OSAGE CITY – Marilyn Renee Giesy, 81, Osage City, passed away Thursday, Feb. 25, 2021, at Stormont-Vail Hospital in Topeka. She was born July 1, 1939, in Emporia, the daughter of Jules and Leea (Corley) Martin.
Marilyn grew up in Burlington, where she graduated from Burlington High School in 1957. She had lived in Osage City since 1968. She was a homemaker and a member of the Osage City United Methodist Church. She was involved in many organizations and groups throughout the years.
On June 23, 1957, Marilyn was united in marriage to Jerry Giesy in Burlington. To this union, three children were born, Steve, Brian and Renee.
Marilyn was preceded in death by her daughter, Renee, on March 12, 2009; her parents, Jules and Leea; and her sister, Julene Lowny.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry, of 63 years; her sons, Steve (Michelle) and Brian (Marilyn) Giesy, all of Osage City; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Marilyn were held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 1, at the Osage City United Methodist Church, followed by burial at the Osage City Cemetery.
