TOPEKA — Cynthia Jane Roller died Friday, Sept. 25, 2020, at Stormont–Vail Hospital, Topeka. He was 73.
She was born Aug. 8, 1947, in Topeka, the daughter of David C. and Kathryn Smith Chesler. Her father served in the military, which caused her family to move throughout Kansas, Arkansas and Missouri during her childhood.
Cynthia attended Bible College, in Missouri, and would eventually become an ordained minister in The Christian Church.
She married Robert G. Roller July 18, 2001, in Osage City. He survives of the home.
During the first few years of their marriage, Cynthia and Robert lived in Osage City while she worked as a LPN at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka. They moved to a farm south of Hartford in 2005. Cynthia took a position with the Coffey County Hospital, in Burlington, until her retirement in 2010. In 2015, Cynthia and Robert moved into Hartford, where they remained in their current home the rest of her life.
Cynthia loved to sing and was a member of the Flint Hills Harmony vocal group, in Emporia. Her other many interests and talents included making countless quilts for her family and friends. She and her husband regularly attended the Hartford United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Brian and Danny.
Besides her husband, Cynthia will live on in the hearts and memories of her three grandchildren, Jayden (Rebekah) Kemmerer, Hartford, Justice (Beca) Kemmerer, Hartford and Shailee Kemmerer, Emporia; a great-grandson, A.J.; a sister, Debbie; many extended family and countless friends.
Cremation is planned. A memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, Osage City.
