Stephen Leroy Griffin

TOPEKA — Stephen Leroy Griffin, Osage City, died Saturday, Aug. 1, 2020, at Stormont-Vail Hospital, Topeka. He was 73.

He was born July 30, 1947, in Burlingame, the son of William Frances and Mildred Francis (Kelley) Griffin. He served in the U.S. Navy.

Steve married Elizabeth Catherine Gunterman Sept. 6, 1969, in Topeka. She survives of the home.

He worked at the State of Kansas Job Service Office for many years. He was a member Corinthian Lodge 79 Masonic Lodge, in Burlingame.

Steve was preceded in death by parents, six sisters and nine brothers.

Besides his wife, he will be forever remembered by two daughters, Ginger LeAnn Fay and husband, Eric, Emporia, and Stephanie Louise Griffin, Bon Aire, Ga.; a son, Robert Griffin and wife, Sherry, Lebo; four sisters, Julia Traphagan, Burlingame, Liz Johnson and husband, Dennis, Carbondale, Paula Clark and husband, John, of Belle Plaine, and Patti Fleak, Burlingame; three brothers, Bob Griffin and wife, Dolly, Lawrence, Dale Griffin and wife, Joan, Olivet, and Tim Griffin and wife, Kylin, Burlingame; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Friday, Aug. 7, at Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, Lebo. Visitation will be6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 6 at VanArsdale Funeral Home, Lebo. Cremation will follow service. Inurnment will be in Burlingame Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Corinthian Lodge 79 Masonic Lodge or America Cancer Society and sent in care of Jones VanArsdale Funeral Home, P.O. Box 43, Lebo, KS 66856.
