Dorylan Jackson
July 4, 1946-Dec. 24, 2025

OSAGE CITY — Dorylan Jackson, Osage City, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 24, 2025. She was 79.

Born on July 4, 1946, she was the firstborn of a set of twin girls to Paul and Evelyn (Eagan) Koch in Axtell. She lived up to her “firecracker” birthday throughout her life, known for her lively personality, warm spirit, and love of practical jokes.

On March 27, 1965, Dorylan married the love of her life, Jim Jackson, and the couple resided in Osage City. They shared over 60 years together, a lifetime of holding hands, kisses and devotion to each other.

Dorylan worked in several roles over the years, but especially cherished her time at Hallmark Cards. She took great pride in the brand, and always checked to see if her birthday card was a Hallmark, much to her family’s amusement.

Her greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Susie Adams (Craig), Bryan Jackson, and Amy Jackson (Ted Craig); a proud grandmother to Jacob Adams (Sammy), Taylor Adams (Rae), Whitney Hoffmann (Tyler), Jarod Shirley (Sarah Needler), Ethan, Ashten and Jackson, and Ryker Jackson-Craig; and a loving great-grandmother to Avery, Elliot, Harper and Delilah Adams, and Maeve and Addie Hoffmann.

Dorylan was sweet, kindhearted and famously ornery. She always put others first and was quick to lend a helping hand. She loved to feed others, and often showed up with dessert. A devoted member of St. Patrick’s Church, she supported her church community in numerous ways over the years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Evelyn Koch; her younger brother, Gene Koch; three grandchildren Ethan, Ashten and Jackson; and her lifelong best friend, Dale Jennings.

In addition to her husband and children, Dorylan is survived by her siblings, Maxine Davis, Kathleen Kuckelman, Janice Slusser (Tom), Maurice Koch (Cindy), and twin sister, Doris Copeland (Jim); many nieces and nephews; and her lifelong best friend, Marilyn Jennings.

The rosary was said at 9:30 a.m. Dec. 31, followed by mass at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Osage City, followed by graveside services.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the St. Patrick’s Altar Society.
