Quenemo — Stanley Victor Lloyd, 90, passed away on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at his home in Quenemo, Kansas. He was born on August 15, 1934, in Springdale, Pennsylvania, the son of Harry and Elsie (Bartellett) Lloyd.
Stanley grew up in Pennsylvania, but when he joined the United States Air Force, he ended up with twelve duty stations around the globe. He had been back in Quenemo for the last year.
Stanley had his first paper route at the age of 9 and then worked for Baird’s Dairy in high school. He then served for over twenty years in the United States Air Force and retired in 1974 as a Technical Sergeant. He then worked for the United States Postal Service for 14 years. He was a member of the Quenemo Baptist Church.
On June 8, 1957, Stanley was united in marriage to Jeri Maxine Green in Lyndon. To this union five children were born, Stanley, Michelle, Victor, Lisa and Niles.
Stanley was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Elsie; and by his seven brothers and three sisters.
Stanley is survived by his wife, Jeri of 67 years; by his five children, Kreig (Nikki) Lloyd of LaVista, Nebraska, Michelle Lloyd (Bobby Leach) of Quenemo, Victor (Patricia) Lloyd of Quenemo, Lisa (Joseph) Means of Hereford, Arizona and Niles (Julie) Lloyd of Osage City; 13 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Stanley will be held at 3:00pm on Sunday, October 27 at the Quenemo Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery at Quenemo. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 6:30pm on Saturday at the Feltner Funeral Home in Lyndon.
