Jack Parrish

BURLINGTON — Jack Parrish III, fondly known as “JR,” was born June 22, 1977, in Topeka. On Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024, he peacefully passed away in the comfort of his home, surrounded by those who loved him deeply. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack Parrish II and Mary Parrish.

JR’s life was woven into the lives of many, especially his dedicated support team, his peers at COF, and his friends throughout Osage. Coming to COF in 1998, JR quickly made an unforgettable impact on everyone he met. Though non-verbal, he had a remarkable way of communicating, expressing kindness, love and gratitude in ways words could not match. His bright eyes and gentle gestures spoke volumes, forming unbreakable connections and bringing joy to those around him.

Throughout his 47 years, JR’s greatest achievement was building bonds filled with genuine love, compassion and empathy, reminding all who knew him of the power of a pure, loving spirit. He will be dearly missed, but will live on in the hearts of his loved ones and in the legacy of unity and love he created.

Rest peacefully, JR. You are forever cherished.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Nov. 1 at Jones Funeral Home, Burlington. Burial will follow in Graceland Cemetery, Burlington. Friends will gather for a visitation 10 a.m. until service time.
