OSAGE CITY – Sharon Josephine Stromgren, Osage City, died Saturday, Aug. 17, 2024, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. She was 83.

She was born Jan. 16, 1941, in Kansas City, Mo., the daughter of Robert and Ethel Ruth (Jackson) Watson. She graduated from Osage City Rural High School in 1959, and had lived in and around Osage City all of her life.

Sharon was united in marriage to Dale Stromgren Feb. 23, 1963, in Osage City. To this union four children were born, Scott, Gary, Mark and Shirley. Sharon and Dale enjoyed over 61 years together.

She was a full-time homemaker, and loved being a mother and a farmer’s wife.

Sharon was preceded in death by her son, Mark Stromgren (Aug. 3, 2022); her daughter-in-law, Sharon Bryson-Stromgren; her parents, Robert and Ruth Watson; and by three brothers, Richard Watson, James Watson and Charlie Watson.

She is survived by her husband, Dale Stromgren, of the home; three children, Scott Stromgren, Gary Stromgren (Marsha), and Shirley Buchmeier (Tyrel), all of Osage City; her sister, Regina Henry, DeSoto, Texas; a brother, John Watson (DeAnn), Osage City; 10 grandchildren, Jessie Stromgren, Megan Stromgren (Dylan), Brayton Stromgren, Walker Stromgren, Kyle Stromgren (Anne), Blake Stromgren, Austin Stromgren (Chloe), Susan Stromgren, Tyler Hannah (Sarah), and Aaron Hanna; and five great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Madlynn, Myles, Sterling and Stetson.

Graveside memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Aug. 27, at the Osage City Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
