BALDWIN CITY — Janette Yvonne Lutze, Lyndon, died Thursday, Jan. 26, 2023, at Morning Star Home Care, Baldwin City. She was 83.

She was born Feb. 12, 1939, in Franklin County, the daughter of Willard and Zola (Clark) Thornbrugh. Jan, as she was known to all, had grown up around the Williamsburg community and had lived in Tucson, Ariz., for several years before moving to Lyndon, where she had lived for the past 45 years.

Jan was united in marriage to Myron “Pete” Lutze Jan. 29, 1960, in Williamsburg. To this union two sons were born, Mike and Steve.

She was a homemaker and had worked at The Missy Shoppe and then Feltner Furniture and Variety Store, both in Lyndon.

Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Pete (Jan. 11, 2023); her parents, Willard and Zola; and two brothers, John Thornbrugh and Terry Thornbrugh.

She is survived by her two sons, Mike Lutze, Lawrence, and Steve Lutze (Tammy), Ozawkie; a brother, Willard Thornbrugh; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

Graveside memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, at Woodlawn Cemetery, Pomona.
