OSAGE CITY — Steven Scott Benedict, Osage City, died of cancer Thursday, Dec. 22, 2022, at his home. He was 68.
He was born Sept. 24, 1954, in Emporia, the son of Jack and Beulah (Stone) Benedict. He grew up in Lebo, and graduated from Lebo High School in 1972.
From his first marriage, he had an adopted daughter, Jessica Wiederholt. He married Jeanne Lane Dieker Sept. 16, 2006, in Lebo.
Steve was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Charles, and a nephew.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanne; stepsons, Shane and Jared Dieker; daughter, Jessica Wiederholt; and brother, Mike Benedict, Arizona.
