MANHATTAN — Fern Louise Worthing, Wamego, died Thursday, June 16, 2022, at Ascension Via Christi Hospital, Manhattan. She was 94.

She was born April 19, 1928, in a rural home near Louisville, to Clifford and Margaret (Schumacher) Julien.

Fern married Kenneth Ray Worthing March 29, 1949, in Wamego. He preceded her in death on Dec. 11, 2003.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; her oldest son, CR Worthing; four sisters, Norma Yonning, Ruth Eichman, Helen Koppenheffer and Dolores Michaelis; and one brother, Dean Julien.

Fern is survived by a daughter, Linda Cottrell, Wamego; a son, Gordon Worthing (Kim), Lyndon; a daughter-in-law, Cindy Worthing, Wamego; seven grandchildren, Tambria Pfannenstiel (Mark), Christina Bruton (Tim), Sara Middleton (Ryan), Brian Cottrell, Ross Worthing (Mindy), Caroline Thomas (Henry), and Francie Worthing (Jamison Tevis); 10 great-grandchildren, Jenny, Gracie, Chloe, Gavin, Taylor, Trent, Rhia, Atlee, Zahra and Hank; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were Monday, June 20.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Wamego Senior Citizens Center and sent in care of Campanella & Stewart Funeral Home, P.O. Box 48, Wamego, KS 66547.
