LEBO — Kevin Wade Orear, Melvern, died Wednesday, April 13, 2022, near Lebo. He was 64.

He was born May 12, 1957, in Topeka, the son of Keith and Joyce (Haynes) Orear. He grew up in Melvern, where he attended the Melvern schools. He later lived in Lyndon for a time before moving back to Melvern.

Kevin worked as a track hoe operator in construction for many years and was a member of the Local #101 Operating Engineers.

He married Deb Walters in 1977, in Melvern. They later divorced. He married Tammy Sue Orear in 1993, and they later divorced.

Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Keith and Joyce.

He is survived by his daughter, Dessie Orear, Chicago; three brothers, Marlin Orear (Christine), Melvern, Rusty Orear (Adeana), Halsted, and Chris Orear, Melvern; two nephews; and a niece.

Memorial services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, April 21, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until service time. Inurnment will be in Melvern Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Johnson Cancer Research Center (Kansas State University) and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
