BALDWIN CITY — Richard “Rick” Dorshorn, Baldwin City, died Friday, April 8, at home. He was 82.

He was a carpenter who had worked in Denver, Colo., and Emporia until his retirement.

Rick served in the United States Air Force during the Cold War, stationed in Germany.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Yolanda Dorshorn; his father, Louis Dorshorn; his stepmother, Jane Dorshorn; two brothers, Lou and Michael Dorshorn; and a sister, Fay Dorshorn.

Rick is survived by his wife, Vicki, of the home; two daughters, Lynn McCluskey and Lisa Dorshorn, Denver, Colo.; a son, Daniel Dorshorn, Denver, Colo.; two stepsons, Chuck Collins, Baldwin City, and Mike Collins, Ealey, S.C.; a half-sister, Loryn Longbrake, Johnson City, Tenn.; 17 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, April 23, at Grace Chapel, 419 S. Third Street, Carbondale.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Rick Dorshorn Memorial Fund and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 64, Baldwin City, KS 66006.
