OSAGE CITY — Carolyn E. Fager, 84, died Monday, Dec. 20, 2021, at Osage Nursing Manor, Osage City.

Carolyn Elizabeth Havenstein was born June 27, 1937, in Topeka, the daughter of Arthur and Eva (Swenson) Havenstein. She graduated from Osage City High School in 1955.

She was joined in marriage to Alden R. Fager Sept. 25, 1955, in Osage City. He died Jan. 16, 2013.

Carolyn helped her husband with bookkeeping and accounting for Fager Plumbing and Heating. She was also a very talented seamstress, sewing many beautiful pieces over the years for family and friends. She enjoyed knitting, and made dozens of baby blankets and sweaters, as well as her family’s much-loved Christmas stockings. She was also a wonderful cook and baker, teaching many of her skills and sharing her recipes.

She was a member of the Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Osage City, and was a member of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of American (WELCA).

Besides her husband, Carolyn was also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Ronald Havenstein.

She will be forever remembered by her daughter, Ruth Fager, Osage City; two sons, Martin (Tammyra) Fager and Daniel (Laurie) Fager, both of Osage City; four grandchildren, Lauren (Logan) Jerore, Lexie Fager (Dylan Robert), Lucas Fager and Lane Fager, all of Osage City; two great-grandchildren; and a sister, Janet Seyfert, Buckner, Mo. She was also Aunt Carolyn to several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Carolyn was cremated. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Osage City. Interment will follow at Rapp Cemetery, west of Osage City.
