GARDNER — In memory of Tara Susanne Azwell, 78, former resident and elementary school teacher in Osage City, who died July 20, 2021, a celebration of life service will be 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 16, at the ARC building, 132 East Main Street, Gardner. A brief presentation of thoughts and remembrances will be presented by longtime friend Harvey Foyle, followed by social time and refreshments.

Having earned degrees from Pittsburg State, KU, ESU and K- State, Tara was a longtime teacher, having taught for 20 years in elementary schools in Overland Park, Berryton, Tecumseh and Osage City. Following her stint at the elementary level, she became a teacher of teachers, as a professor of early childhood education at Emporia State University for 23 years. Following her retirement, she continued teaching online classes for ESU for several years.
