BROKEN ARROW, Okla. — Betty Ann King, 86, formerly of Vassar, died Sunday, July 25, 2021, at Prairie House Assisted Living, Broken Arrow, Okla.

She was born Dec. 13, 1934, in Washington, the daughter of Fred and Nora (Foster) Peterson. She had lived in Pomona Heights on Lake Pomona near Vassar for over 40 years before moving to Oklahoma in 2020.

Betty had done clerical work for Capper’s Insurance Services, Topeka, for over 30 years until her retirement. She had also been a member of the United Methodist Church, Vassar.

She was united in marriage to Don King Aug. 1, 1962, in Topeka. To this union a daughter was born, Diane.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Nora; her husband, Don (June 18, 2009); and her sister, Beverly.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane Kalik (Andrew), Dallas, Texas; and her two grandsons, Hutton and Bently Kalik.

Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 18, at Vassar Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Alzheimer’s Foundation, and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
