BOWIE, Md. — Bonolyn “Bonnie” (Kinney) Snyder, Bowie, Md., died May 23, 2020. She was 88.

She was born April 3, 1932, in Topeka. She graduated from Washburn University, Topeka (Delta Gamma). She was a longtime respected educator and retired teacher from Bowie High School, Bowie, Md., where she taught home economics and bachelor living.

Bonnie was united in marriage to Charles E. Snyder Jr. Oct. 2, 1953. He preceded her in death Oct. 11, 2015.

She was a loving mother and friend to many, all of whom considered her to be a shining example of unconditional love. In addition to her unwavering love of our great country, her passions beyond her strong fondness for family included cooking, traveling, spending time with good friends and sincerely listening to everyone’s story. She was a longtime champion of education, and strongly encouraged everyone to attain further education. Her greatest travel passion was discovering all parts of Alaska with her good friend, Marge Phillips. At the ripe old age of 84, she even joined her four sons on a multi-day high adventure fishing trip in the backwoods of Alaska. She was a longtime believer in Jesus Christ, and will be sincerely missed by many until we meet her again.

Bonnie is survived by her four sons, Charlie (Cathy), New Braunfels, Texas, Jim, New Ulm, Texas, John (Tori), Tulsa, Okla., and Daniel, Pasadena, Md.; her 12 grandchildren, Chip, Courtney, Chad, Candace, Braden, Brittany, Macy, Kellner, Shelby, Cory, Brock and Makenzie; her 19 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.

Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon, followed by inurnment at the Ridgeway Cemetery northeast of Carbondale.
