CARBONDALE — Steven Gray, 29, died Tuesday, July 20, 2021, at his home in Carbondale.

He was born March 15, 1992, in Paragould, Ark., the son of Charles Gray and Kathy (Urban) Adams. The family moved to Carbondale when Steven was 3, and he lived there ever since. He was a Class of 2012 graduate of the Kansas School for the Deaf, Olathe.

Steven was a warehouse and shipping loader, and for the past three years, he was proud to be working at the Home Depot Distribution Center, Topeka.

He was known by friends and family to be a workout warrior. He loved lifting weights and being physically fit. He was always excited to work with his tools. Remodeling his house was probably his favorite way to be able to get his tools out. He was always happy when there was a project to work on. Of all of the things in Steven’s life, most important was his son, Domiquez. He loved spending quality time with his son and was always excited to play with him.

Steven was united in marriage to Kendra Raposo March 1, 2016.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Cecil and Nancy Urban.

Steven is survived by his son, Domiquez Gray, Carbondale; his father Charles Gray (Ligaya), Carbondale; his mother, Kathy Adams (Colin), Carbondale; three siblings, Josh Gray, Virginia Beach, Va., Heather Gray, Osage City, and Gabriel Gray, Carbondale; and his paternal grandparents, Harold Wayne Gray and Paulette Gray, Paragould, Ark.

Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Saturday, July 31, at Grace Chapel, Carbondale. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Scranton. The family will meet with friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 30, at Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, Overbrook.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Steven Gray memorial Fund and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 268, Overbrook, KS 66524.
