CARBONDALE — Kathryn Kay Ortiz, 65, died Monday, July 12, 2021, at her home in Carbondale.

She was born July 29, 1955, in Ainsworth, Neb., the daughter of Maynard and Shirley (Gossard) Dillon.

Kathryn married Patrick Singer in October 1971, and they later divorced. She later married Doug Ortiz.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doug, and an infant son, William Glen Singer.

Kathryn is survived by a son, Shawn Singer (Ashley), Keenesburg, Colo.; two grandchildren, Hailey and Peyton Singer; a sister, Carolyn Kemble (Bryan), Carbondale; and her longtime friend, Loren Lett.

Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at the Carbondale Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of choice.
