TOPEKA — Cody Dean Prescott, 41, Burlingame, died Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Midland Care Hospice, Topeka.

He was born March 20, 1980, in Topeka, the son of David and Diana Lynn (Creviston) Prescott. He grew up in the Burlingame area, graduating from Burlingame High School with the class of 1999.

Cody worked for 20 years in the new home construction industry, most of those years working for Holthouse Construction. He later was a certified nurse’s assistant at Presbyterian Manor Care for two years.

He enjoyed woodworking and loved listening to jazz music. He spent many hours tinkering in his shop, just seeing what he could make out of different things he found lying around. His main focus and biggest love of his life was his daughter, Emme. Every second he could spend with her was a joy for him. He was proud of his daughter and loved her unconditionally.

Cody was preceded in death by his mother, Diana Lynn Prescott.

He is survived by his daughter, Emme Prescott, Topeka; his father, David Dean Prescott (Patrisha Rusher), Burlingame; his brother, Troy Wade Prescott, Burlingame; and a sister, Heather Diana, Auburn.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 15, at the Federated Church of Burlingame. Interment will follow at Burlingame Cemetery. A visitation will be noon to 1 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service at the church.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Cody Prescott Memorial Fund and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 194, Burlingame, KS 66413.
