OSAGE CITY — Louis “Lou” Edward Robert, 84, died Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at his home in Osage City.

He was born Feb. 9, 1937, to Albert and Evona (Mathieu) Robert in Osage City. He attended Kibbe Grade School, then Osage City High School, graduating with the class of 1955.

Lou was united in marriage to Rosine Heider Dec. 29, 1958, at St Patrick’s Church in Osage City. To this union four children were born, Charlie, Lisa, Angie and David.

Lou was a lifelong farmer. He was one of the first farmers in Osage County to try the no-till farming program. He received multiple awards, including Farm Bureau Soil Conservation in 1978 and 1984, Wildlife Habitat in 1991, Farm Bureau 100th Century Farm Family in 2019, and Farm Bureau Family of the year in 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Albert Robert and Howard Joe Robert; three sisters, Rosline Fellman, Margarite Myzer and LaVerne Berry; four brothers-in-law, Howard Fellman, Sandy Myzer, Bill Berry and Bob Smith; two sisters-in-law, Donna Zehner and Cheryl Heider; a nephew, Joe Myzer; and a niece, Carol Sue Fairbanks.

Lou is survived by his wife, Rosine, of 62 years; two sons, Charlie (Anita) Robert and David (Wendy) Robert; two daughters, Lisa Robert and Angie Keeffe (Jerry); nine grandchildren, Mallory Keeffe, Jordan (Darcy) Keeffe, Dalton (Jamie) Keeffe, Lucas Robert, Dylan (Lexie) Robert, Tabitha Robert, Kristi Robert (Kevin), Colton Robert and Casie Robert; 11 great-grandchildren, Zavy and Veah Keeffe, Kacen and Tessa Keeffe, Evelyn and Lakyn Keeffe, Olivia and Warren Robert, Harper Woodward, Elizabeth Romine and James Attkisson; three sisters-in-law, Dee Robert, Dorothy Weeks and Linda Smith; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation will be 5 to 6:30 p.m. Sunday, May 16, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church, Osage City, with rosary following at 7 p.m. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Monday, May 17, at St Patrick’s Catholic Church.
