OVERBROOK — Ruth L. Shogren-Fienhage, Scranton, died Sunday, April 11, 2021, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. She was 94.

She was born July 23, 1926, in Volney, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Velva (Shobondy) Hargesheimer.

Ruth was united in marriage to Tom Shogren until he died March 19, 1993. She married Frank A. Fienhage Jr. July 24, 2000, in Lyndon, and they shared three years of marriage until he died March 25, 2003.

Ruth worked at the VA Hospital in Topeka doing work with the linen service, and she was a caregiver for the late Eva Silver. She enjoyed traveling with family and crocheting towels to sell at the farmers market in Topeka. She will be remembered for her warm, loving and caring personality.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Velva Hargesheimer; her husbands, Tom Shogren and Frank A. Fienhage Jr.; and a sister, Zella Hensel.

Ruth is survived by a stepson, Steve (Debbie) Fienhage, Valley Center; stepdaughters Marlene Norris, Berryton, Susie Wittington, Meriden, and Arlene Adams, Topeka; a brother, Clarence Hargesheimer, Luverne, Minn.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews in Minnesota.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, April 16, at Lamb-
Roberts-Price Funeral Home, 503 S. Topeka Ave., Burlingame. The family will receive friends from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday, April 20, at Holm Dingmann Funeral Home, 324 W. Main, Luverne, Minn., with graveside services following at the Maplewood Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Phoenix Hospice or Brookside Retirement Community and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 194, Burlingame, KS 66413. Condolences may be left for the family at www.Lamb-Roberts.com.
