MELVERN – Robert Lee Skidmore, 63, died Sunday, March 28, 2021, at his home near Melvern.

He was born Nov. 5, 1957, in Emporia, the son of John and Donna Lee (Burns) Skidmore.

Bob grew up in Lyndon and graduated from Lyndon High School in 1975. He had always lived in Lyndon and near Melvern.

Bob started work on the construction of the Wolf Creek Nuclear Power Plant and then worked there as an electrician for over 30 years. He had also farmed the last few years. He was a Shriner and a member of the IBEW #304.

Bob was married to Donna June Kautz in 1977, they later divorced. He married Sharada Schroeder in 1994, they later divorced.

Bob was preceded in death by a son, Patrick Skidmore in 1997; his father, John Skidmore; and his ex-wife, Donna Kautz.

He is survived by his mother, Donna Hannigan, Osage City; his three daughters, Jennifer Bontrager (Scott Fredrickson), Holton, Susan Beecham (Ryan Diehl), Goff, and Bobbi Jo Havenstein (John), Manhattan; his two brothers, David Skidmore, Tomball, Texas, and John Skidmore, Lebo; his step-father, Jim Snyder; his three step-sisters, Debbie Woodson (Danny), Melvern, Chris Weber, Arvada, Colo., and Tammy Lee, North Myrtle Beach, S.C.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

A memorial service for Bob will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 6, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, April 5, at the funeral chapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Robert Skidmore Memorial Fund (to be designated later by the family), and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451. Online condolences for the family may be left at feltnerfuneralhome.com.
