BURLINGAME – David Leroy Jellison, 82, of Topeka, formerly of Burlingame, passed away Saturday, March 6, 2021.
He was born July 6, 1938, in Salina, the son of John David and Wilma Lucille (Briand) Jellison. He was a graduate of Topeka High School. He served in the Navy during the Korean War.
David was a retired veteran, and then became self-employed. He was a member of Family Life Church in Topeka.
David married Linda Schommer December 1, 1986. She preceded him in death October 18, 2020. Survivors include seven children: William Jellison, Scottsdale, Arizona, JD (Amber) Jellison, Montezuma, Pastor Jay (Judy) Jellison, Topeka, Chris (Brenda) Jellison, Osage City, Rick (Debbie) Jellison, New Braunsfeld, Texas, Kelly (Roy) Amos, Topeka, and Kim Nyagol, Topeka; his brother, Gary Jellison (Ruth Ann), Topeka; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and a son, Scott Jellison.
David loved coffee and Little Debbies, as well as raising and trading horses.
Honoring his request, cremation is planned. There will be a memorial service at 10 a.m. Friday, March 19, at Dove Cremations and Funerals-Southwest Chapel, 3700 SW Wanamaker, Topeka, with burial to follow at Burlingame Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Becoming Love Ministries, 7905 NW 48th St., Bethany, OK 73008.
