OSAGE CITY – Danny Lee Ormsby, Osage City, died Wednesday, Feb. 10, 2021, at his home. He was 68.
He was born April 3, 1952, in Emporia, the son of Alvin and Leota (Gavin) Ormsby.
Danny had lived in and around Osage City for most of his life. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1970 and served in the United States Marine Corps. He had worked for John Deere in Osage City and had been an over the road truck driver for many years. He had been a member of the American Legion Post No. 198 and the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3890, both in Osage City.
On Sept. 23, 1983, Danny was married to Marilyn Jean Mason in Lyndon.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marilyn, on May 21, 2010; his parents, Alvin and Leota; two brothers, Jerry and Jim Ormsby; and a sister, Betty Boyce.
He is survived by his son, Dean Mason, Oshkosh, Wis.; two daughters, Cindy Scott (Tracy), Albany, Ga., and Rhonda Mason-Ogle (Shawn), Osage City; a brother, Bill Ormsby (Shirley), Olivet; four sisters, Donna Miller (Norm Rieger), Lascassa, Tenn., Joan Staus, Ottawa, Lois Gutierrez (John), Dumas, Texas, and Nancy Peters, Lebo; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
A visitation for Danny will be scheduled and announced with Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon. Private family inurnment will be in the Alpine Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Veterans Assistance Fund (for the Topeka VA Hospital). Online condolences for the family may be left at feltnerfuneralhome.com.
