Lois Arlene Rice

Wichita—Lois Arlene Rice went to be with her Lord and Savior Jan. 23, 2021, at her home in Wichita. She was 88.

She married Orville J. Rice Sept. 11, 1947 and were happily married for 64 years until his death on July 29, 2012. To this union four children were born, Larry Rice, Shirley Randall, Alan Scott Rice (deceased), and Russell Rice.

Lois lived in Melvern, until she was 37 years old and then moved to Topeka until she retired. After retirement she and her husband, Orville, spent winters in either South Texas or Southern California.

She was a beautician for most of her life and was the owner/operator of a salon in Melvern and Red Velvet Beauty Boutique, in Topeka.

Lois is survived by three children, Larry Rice (Leta), La Feria, Texas, Shirley Randall (Dan), Burrton, and Russell Rice (Sandra), Redlands, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Melissa Russell (Travis), Brant Rice (DeLynn), Melanie Little (Eric), Christopher Greeve (Kelly), Amber Roberts-Bye (Marty), Toby Rice and Tanner Rice; two bonus grandchildren, Danielle Randall and Michelle McAllister (Ray); 13 great-grandchildren; and eight bonus great-grandchildren.

Due to COVID concerns, funeral services will be for immediate family only but broadcasted on Facebook Live at Facebook.com/C3Hays 1 p.m. Jan. 28 for all to join. Invitation will be posted on Facebook, but if you want details emailed to you, email rrice@riverstones.org.

Memorial contributions may be made to Celebration Community Church, in Hays, where Lois’ grandson is pastor.
