OSAGE CITY — Leona Mabel Lamond, Osage City, died Friday, Oct. 30, 2020, at Osage Nursing Center, Osage City. She was 93.

She was born June 12, 1927, in Arcadia, Calif., the daughter of William and Mabel (Hoffman) Bishop. Leona spent most of her life in Osage City and graduated from Osage City High School in 1945.

In addition to the work on the family farm, she worked at Gamba Brothers Grocery Store, Osage City. Later, she worked at Hallmark Cards for over 18 years.

Leona was a member of Osage City American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Post198 and attended Countryside Baptist Church, Osage City.

Leona married Duane Fred Lamond March 24, 1947, in Osage City. They shared over 63 years of marriage before Duane died on June 25, 2010. To this union they shared four children, Roy, Ray, Rita and Ronda.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Ray Lamond, a son-in-law, Dean Croucher, parents, and two brothers, Verl Bishop and Wilmer Bishop.

Leona is survived by three children, Roy Lamond and wife, Karen, Osage City, Rita Croucher, Osage City, and Ronda Anderson and husband, Brian, Lenexa; two brothers, Bill Bishop, Caldwell, Idaho, and Elmer Bishop, Loveland, Colo.; eight grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 4, at Lyndon Cemetery. Leona will lie in state from 2 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 3, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon. The family will not be present.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Post 198 and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
