Ella Estelle Hoover

OSAGE CITY — Ella Estelle Hoover, Lyndon, died Monday, Aug. 31, 2020, at Vintage Park, Osage City. She was 92.
She was born Nov. 5, 1927, on the family farm south of Lyndon, the daughter of Earl and Erma Frazier Mickelson. She lived most of her life in the Lyndon area, graduating from Lyndon High School in 1945.
She married Arthur E. Hoover May 7, 1946, in Overbrook. He preceded her in death in 2011.
She was a homemaker and worked for Lawrence B. Hall, DDS for many years as a dental assistant. As her daughters were growing up, she and Art were both very active with the Girl Scouts. Ella was a troop leader and headed up day camp activities.
Art and Ella loved travel and camping. They traveled across the United States in their travel trailer and loved camping at the local lakes with family and friends.
Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Weekes, in 2002; her parents, Earl and Erma; and two sisters, Elsie Rukes, in 2014, and Earla Jo Groves, in 2005.
Ella is survived by a daughter, Lynda Lippert and husband, Ray, Lyndon; a sister, Eleene Newton and husband, Dale, Topeka; a son-in-law, Dennis Weekes, Texas; three grandchildren, Allison Lippert, Aaron Weekes and Russell Weekes; and a great-grandchild.
Graveside memorial services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Lyndon Cemetery.
