TOPEKA — Beverly June Rice, Melvern, died Thursday, Aug. 20, 2020, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. She was 95.

She was born May 30, 1925, Melvern, the daughter of Vincent and Bessie Lemons Boyer. Beverly lived most of her life in the Melvern Community.

She was a homemaker and a member of the American Legion Post 317 Auxiliary.

Beverly married George “Don” Rice Oct. 19, 1942, in Ottawa. He preceded her in death on June 6, 2019.

Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Pat Kronk in 1972; her parents, Vincent and Bessie; a brother, Steve Boyer; a grandson, Vince Rice in 2013; and a daughter-in-law, Barbara Rice in 2015.

Beverly is survived by six children, Jim Rice and wife, Teresa, Melvern, Trudy Orender and husband, Bill, Osage City, George Rice, Clay Center, Christine Orear and husband, Marlin, Melvern, John Rice and wife, Dorothy, Osage City, and Karen Allison and husband, Larry, Melvern; 19 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 25, at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon. Burial will be in Melvern Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Tuesday.

Memorial contributions may be made to Midland Hospice Care or American Legion Auxiliary, sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.
