TOPEKA — Dennis Earl Christesen, Osage City, died Monday, Aug. 3, at a care facility, in Topeka. He was 67.

Dennis was born March 31, 1953, at Emporia, the son of Harold and Ruby Christesen. He graduated from Osage City High School with the class of 1971.

He attended Kansas State Teachers College, Emporia, and graduated in 1975 from Kansas State University, Manhattan, with a major in journalism and minor in film.

He worked for Phillips County Review, Phillipsburg, Telegraphics Inc., Baldwin City, Western Auto as an advertising copywriter, Kansas City, Mo., Gilbert Robinson Editor of Corporate Communications and was an ad writer and coordinator of public relations.

He owned his own advertising company, Dewey Createm and Howe, doing public relations, marketing and art directing, in Overland Park. He was director of marketing and communications. He also worked as a network technician and customer conference bridger at Sprint Network Command Center, Overland Park.

Journalism and advertising were his passions.

He was a member of the KanFilm Festival and was past president and member of the board of directors. As part of the Kansas Connection, he was the Kansas liaison for the Los Angeles, Calif., based company.

He was a lifetime member of the Kansas State University Alumni Association.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Ruby Christesen; a brother Bob Christesen; and a nephew Cary Griffith.

He is survived by two sisters, Carolyn Rosetta, Osage City, and Corinne Dubois and husband, Ken, Burlingame; and nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Dennis Christesen memorial to be designated at a later date and sent in care of Carolyn Rosetta, 208 Safford St., Osage City, KS 66523.

Midwest Cremation Society is assisting the family.
