CARBONDALE — Randall D. “Randy” Piper, Carbondale, died Thursday, July 2, 2020. He was 62.

Randy was born April 26, 1958, in Topeka, the son of Russell and Margarette (Shepard) Piper. He graduated from Santa Fe Trail High School in 1976 and attended Emporia State University.

He was a union carpenter and member of Carpenters Local 1445, retiring in 2010. He was an avid outdoorsman. Recently he had spent most of his time in his home woodworking shop. He loved all kinds of sports and spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father.

He is survived by two sons, Ross Piper and wife, Elizabeth, Topeka, and Adam Piper, all of Carbondale; three grandchildren, Dylan, Grady and Waylon; two siblings, Daniel Piper, Scranton, and Elizabeth Needham and husband, Chris, Wakarusa; three nieces, Madison, Katie and Josie; and his mother, Margarette Piper, Carbondale.

Cremation has taken place and a graveside inurnment service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Carbondale Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Randy’s name.

Dove Southwest Chapel is assisting with arrangements.
