Leland Cloyce Kramer

LAWRENCE — Leland Cloyce Kramer died at his home Wednesday, April 22, 2020, in Lawrence, surrounded by his family. He was 84.

Leland was born Nov. 6, 1935, in Melvern, the son of Cloyce Reed Kramer and Opal (Boyer) Kramer. He graduated from Osage City High School in 1953, and earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in teaching from Emporia State University.

He was a teacher, coach and a counselor in Osage City for 27 years, followed by 16 years as a coach and a counselor, in Leavenworth. After retirement, he worked several years at Alvamar Golf Course and Hy-Vee, in Lawrence.

Leland married Gertrude (Noble) Kramer Dec. 19, 1954, at United Methodist Church, Osage City. She survives.

Besides his wife, he is survived by three daughters, Janet, Jo Lynn and Janell; a son Chuck; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; extended family; and many friends.

The family will be celebrating Leland’s life 2 to 4 p.m. June 27 at Osage City Community Center. The celebration will begin with a brief eulogy followed by a meet and greet with family and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave, Lyndon, KS 66451.
