TOPEKA — Marvin D. Collins, Scranton, died Sunday, June 14, 2020, at Midland Hospice House, Topeka. He was 85.

He was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Ottawa, the son of Edgar and Edith (Shaffer) Collins. He graduated from Scranton High School. He was a self-employed car mechanic and worked at Ohse Meats.

Marvin married Doris J. Fay. She survives.

Marvin was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Donald Collins, Colleen Taylor, Jimmy Collins and Carol Owensby.

Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Kay (Kent Schaben) White, Berryton, Belinda Sue (Rick) Lane, Olathe, Michael S. (Carol) Collins, Wakarusa, and Lisa Jo (Randy) Jackson, Scranton; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five siblings, Claudine Smith, Florida, Irene (George) Peters, Topeka, Elaine (Eldon) McCullough, Raytown, Mo., David (Carol) Collins, Scranton, and Dixie (Dean) Brutto, Olathe.

Marvin will lie in state 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 17, at Dove Southeast Chapel, 2843 S.E. Minnesota Ave., Topeka. Private graveside services will be held at Scranton Cemetery.
