An Open Letter from Carey Funeral Home, Inc.

After 103 years and four generations, effective Monday, June 1, 2020, Carey Funeral Home, Inc. is ceasing business. To all of the families that we have been privileged to serve, friends, neighbors and the community, we show our gratitude and truly thank you.

Due to the COVID-19 guidelines, which vary from county to county, it will not be possible to provide the personal and professional service to which we hold ourselves responsible.

We will no longer be able to accept any at need or preneed death calls. Anyone who requires immediate services due to a death, will need to contact another funeral home.

All prearranged funeral trusts, insurance assignments and KEPERS designation are intact and fully transferable. All patrons with these trusts will receive a letter with instructions for their transfer. We will be available for questions and appointments for the next 30 days regarding these topics.

John has spent over 50 years in the funeral service and is ready to retire. After 24 years of serving in Burlingame, J.W. has accepted a professional position that he has respected for many years.

Thank you for allowing us to be part of your families for the last 103 year and we look forward to answering questions and continuing our friendship.

Sincerely,

John W. Carey II

J.W. Carey III
