TOPEKA — Richard Dean Billings, Topeka, died Saturday, April 18, 2020. He was 89.

Richard was born Sept. 7, 1930, in Paxico, the son of Burdette and Clara Belle Martin Billings. He was a civil service truck driver and a farmer.

Richard married Joyce Hursh April 30, 1988. She survives.

He was a member of the Lions Club and Freemasons. In his younger years, he enjoyed hunting and fishing.

He was preceded in death by a stepson, Kyle Pittsenbarger and two sisters, Mary and Donna.

Besides his wife, he is survived by six children, Jan Jones and husband, Mel, Peggy Billings, Dixie Wells, Rick Billings and wife, Bonnie, Kathy Ware and Bill Billings; two stepchildren, Kala Rae and Kendra Jacobs and husband, Daniel; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; a great-great-grandchild; and six siblings, Marvin, Dotty, Delbert, Paul, Birtie and Mike.

Richard will lie in state, without family present, from 10 a.m. to noon Friday, April 24, at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 S.W. Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614. Private burial will be in Burlingame Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children and sent in care of the funeral home.
