OSAGE CITY — Charlene Carol Bowin Persinger died Wednesday, March 11, 2020, in Topeka. She was 76.

She was born Dec. 24, 1943, in Pittsburg. She spent most of her life in Osage City.

She spent most of her days feeding the community who resided at Peterson Nursing Home, as head dietician. She retired from Petersons on Dec. 31, 2013.

Charlene spent her last days in Topeka with her son and family. There she was able to enjoy some of her favorite things, dogs and nature.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Dugger and Inez Bowin Dugger; a sister, Zona Kaye McKenzie; and her loving husband, Ronald V. Persinger.

She is survived by two daughters, Carol Tomson and husband, Chris, Manhattan, and Cheryl Wright, Topeka; a son, Todd VanSchaick and wife, Traci, Topeka; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Services were March 18 at Salt Creek Lighthouse assembly of God, Lyndon.
