Brent Lewis Trueblood

Aug. 22, 1964 – Feb. 19, 2020

TOPEKA — Brent Lewis Trueblood, Osage City, passed away the morning of Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2020, at Stormont Vail Hospital, Topeka. He was 55.

He was born Aug. 22, 1964, in Emporia, the son of Bill Trueblood and Shirley Betts. Brent attended Osage City High School and graduated with the class of 1982.

After high school, he would begin his lifelong career in the agricultural world with John Deere schooling. He began working for John Deere in 1987, in Hillsboro, Ohio, for Five Points Inc. He transferred to the Georgetown, Ohio location, Cahall Bros. Inc.

In 2008, Brent decided to make the move from Ohio, back to Kansas, where he would continue his work with Prairie Land Partners, in Emporia. After 30 years of being employed with John Deere, Brent took all of his experience, in fall 2019, to start his dream of working out of his own shop, in Barclay.

Brent shared his love of farming with everyone that he came into contact with and was highly respected by all of those he worked with. He enjoyed a lifelong love of keeping farmers going in the fields, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes and Kansas City Chiefs, all things John Deere and most of all family time.

He will live on in the hearts of his mother, Shirley Betts and stepfather, Roger Betts; wonderful and caring fiancé, Dawn Andersh; two loving sons, Austin Trueblood and fiancé Ashley and Blake Trueblood; a brother, William “Scott” Trueblood; a sister, Crystal Sixbury and husband Dan.

A celebration of his life will be 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2020, at Reading Community Center.

Memorial Contributions may be made to KC Research for Cancer in Wichita.
