CARROLLTON, Texas — Richard E. Watson, 75, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 2020, at his home. He worked for Underwriters FM Global Insurance and served in the Navy. He was born Oct. 2, 1944, in Emporia, Kan., the son of Robert O. and Ethel Ruth Jackson Watson. He was a graduate of Osage City High School. He married Linda Pal Chick on May 16, 1981, in Chicago.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert James Watson, who died at birth; and two brothers, James Watson and Charles Watson.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Carrolton, Tex.; two daughters, Melisa Cayhill and husband Ryan, Houston, and Kristen Enriquez and husband Thomas, San Antonio; six grandchildren, one brother, John Watson and wife DeAnn, Osage City, and two sisters, Sharon Stromgren and husband Dale, Osage City, and Regina Henry, DeSoto, Texas.
