Marilyn Ruth Goninion

BURLINGAME — Marilyn Ruth Goninion, Burlingame, passed into the arms of our Lord Thursday, Dec. 26, 2019. She was 83.

Marilyn was born Dec. 29, 1935, in Topeka, the daughter of to Mildred Dunn DuRee Tibke and Joseph DuRee.

She graduated from South High School, Omaha, Neb., in 1953. She attended Omaha University. She spent five years in Germany before retirement and moved back to Burlingame in 1989.

She loved hockey and soccer and loved talking about their travels through Europe visiting where the Dunns had lived in the 18th and 19th centuries. She enjoyed membership and fellowship with the American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, Friends of the Library and Saturday Afternoon Club.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Thomas Hendry Goninion.

She is survived by two daughters, Laura Beth Goninion and Jeanne M. Goninion-Riggs, Burlingame; two grandchildren, Eric Riggs, Burlingame, and Lauren Riggs, Arizona.

She was cremated. A private family inurnment will be held at a later date in Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame.
