OSAGE CITY — Bessie L. Bent, Osage City, died Dec. 28, 2019, at Peterson Assisted Living, Osage City. She was 87.

She was born July 13, 1932, in Atlanta, Neb., to Walter John and Gracie Ann Borden Lanning.

She married Curtis J. Bent, Aug. 4, 1951, in Minden, Neb. They were the parents of a son and daughter. Curtis died in 1987.

Besides her husband, was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harold Iliff and his wife, Bea; and a sister, Leona Mae Peek.

She is survived by a son, Dennis Bent, Osage City; a daughter, Cindy Craft and husband, Chris, Sapphire, N.C.; a sister, Elsie Marie Skaggs, Illinois; five grandchildren, Chasity Warren, Sherry Bent, Candace Hodges, Victoria Sepulveda and Nick Jones; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2019, at Strawn Cemetery, Jacobs Creek.

Contributions may be made to Memorial Garden at St. Andrews Chapel, P.O. Box 62, Lake Tox, N.C. 28747.
