Nellie Jean Pippert

SCRANTON — Nellie Jean Pippert, Scranton, died Saturday, Nov. 30, 2019. She was 78.

She was born Feb. 7, 1941, at Agra, Okla., the daughter of Harry and Helen Rigg Bush.

She was a homemaker and a member of the Scranton United Methodist Church.

Jean married Stanley M. Pippert Dec. 24, 1959, in Garnett. He preceded her in death on Oct. 30, 2003.

She is survived by three sons, James Michael Pippert, Scranton, Melvin Gale Pippert, Scranton, and Ralph Patrick Pippert and daughter-in-law, Tammy Lynn Pippert, Topeka; a sister, Marion Carter; two brothers, Murray Bush and John Bush; three granddaughters, Jodie Smith, Amanda Gillespie and Caitlyn Marie Pippert; and a grandson, Dylan James Pippert.

A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 7 at Cross Road Community Church, Scranton. Burial will follow in Sutton Cemetery. Jean will lie in state from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Carey Funeral Home, Burlingame.
