OVERBROOK — Wilma Pauline Moody, 95, Burlingame, died Sunday, Sept. 19, 2021, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook.

She was born Sept. 22, 1925, in Toledo, the daughter of Ivan and Mae Finuf. She graduated from Chase County High School and Business School in Wichita.

Wilma married Jack E. Bechelmayr, and they later divorced. She was united in marriage to Oscar W. Moody Sept. 17, 1949.

She was a telephone operator and later worked for the ASCS office while living in Dighton. Wilma and Oscar moved to Osage County in 1975, and she then worked in Topeka for the Kansas State Department of Education until her retirement in 1986.

Wilma was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Oscar; and a brother, Boyd Finuf.

She is survived by a daughter, Leta Smith (Dix); a son, Boyd Bechelmayr (Linda); five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

Wilma was cremated. Memorial services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in the Ramskill Chapel at the Burlingame Cemetery, Burlingame.

Memorial Contributions may be made to Burlingame First Responders or the Burlingame Federated Church and sent in care of Lamb-Roberts-Price Funeral Home, P.O. Box 194, Burlingame, KS 66413.
