LAWRENCE — The Osage City Indians boys cross country team placed fourth Nov. 2 in Lawrence at Rim Rock in the state meet, the highest in school history.

“I am so proud of all of these athletes, said Head Coach James Bellinger. “They show up every day and put in the work. They put in miles, and sprints, and repeats, and never complain. They just work. It has been a great year working with all of my athletes. This was truly a great season for the Osage City cross country program.”

The boys who competed were Walker Stromgren, 16th place, 17:21 (career best) (medaled), Reid Crawford, 31st place, 17:50 (career best), Shane Orender, 50th place, 18:12 (career best), Skyler Karns, 52nd place, 18:16, Wyatt Orender, 55th place, 18:26 (career best), Adam Delekta, 84th place, 19:17, and Noah Smith, 90th place, 19:29 (career best).

For the girls, Emmy Punches ran to a 19th-place finish at the State meet in a time of 21:49. This was her third trip to the State meet and her second time medaling.

This brings the cross-country teams season to an end.
