An artist, a beloved mother and friend, a loving and strong role model to her children, Judy was a woman of fierce determination that saw her through her hard times. As a widow raising three young children after the death of her husband, Doug, the love of her life, she called on her reserves of strength and independence to see them raised well.<\/p>\n
A homecoming queen, an avid hunter and fly-fisherman, and a staunch advocate for her family, she was grace under pressure. She could do anything she set her mind to, from gardening to DIY projects. When her children moved away, they could always count on Mom to send Christmas cookie care packages or a little something extra in their birthday cards. A tender grandma rocking her grandson when no one else could, later listening patiently on the phone as he described school, sports, friends and pets.<\/p>\n
After moving to Osage City, Judy blossomed with an active life and many, many friends. Her delightful sense of humor, manners and class charmed those around her, as did her strait forwardness. She never hesitated to share a recipe, give thoughtful advice or help a friend or loved one in need.<\/p>\n
Judy was born at home in Auburn, on Dec. 20, 1946, to Clair \u201cC.O.\u201d and Thelma Robinson. As C.O.\u2019s career in the oilfield necessitated constant relocation, Judy lived in Kansas, Oklahoma, Colorado and finally Wyoming. High school in Douglas, Wyo., was a fun time of life, where she enjoyed playing the clarinet in her high school band, singing in choir, being chosen for Honor Choir, and being chosen as homecoming queen. She won awards for fair projects in cooking, canning and sewing. A self-taught painter and prolific knitter, crocheter, tatter and quilter, she even played the drums in a traveling top 40 nightclub act in the \u201970s.<\/p>\n
Her infectious smile, can-do attitude and zest for life will be sorely missed.<\/p>\n
Judy is survived by her children, Derek Skinner (Jody), Billings, Mont., Rebecca LeBrun (Patrick), Riverton, Wyo., Steven Fox, Skykomish, Wash., and Christopher Fox, Panama City, Fla.; and three grandchildren, MyKenzie Bennet (Eli), Dysen Skinner and Aiden LeBrun.<\/p>\n
A potluck celebration of life will be held at the Osage County Senior Center from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 10. Friends and family are invited to bring a dish and a favorite story about their time knowing her.<\/p>\n
