OSAGE CITY \u2014 Dollie Faye Brecheisen, Lyndon, died Saturday, March 12, 2022, at Vintage Park at Osage City. She was 87.<\/p>\n
She was born April 16, 1934, in Osage City, the daughter of Robert and Grace Burns. She attended Osage City public schools.<\/p>\n
Dollie married Paul F. Brecheisen Aug. 21, 1951. Their first date was to the Osage County Fair. Paul saved up a quarter so he and Dollie could ride the Ferris wheel together. They were married for 63 years. Paul preceded her in death on June 12, 2015. <\/p>\n
She was so proud of her three children, Diana Detwiler (Earl), Cadillac, Mich., Anita Hodge (Rick), Topeka, and Doug Brecheisen, Lyndon. She was a wonderful grandmother to Aaron Detwiler (Alexandria), Caleb Gardner (RaeAnn), Bethany Detwiler, Rachel King ( Kurtis), and Kate MacEntire (Brad). Her grandchildren have awesome memories of vacations on the farm, with homemade ice cream, playing with the farm animals, and Grandma\u2019s famous cookies and signature yodeling. Her great-grandchildren, Sha, Hailei, Jullian and Sadie Detwiler, Jazmyne Detwiler, Miles and Mollee King, Ty and Westyn Gardner, Mason and Hunter Kracht, and Carter and Jack MacEntire are all left with many fond memories. Her many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins have wonderful memories of times spent on the Brecheisen farm as well.<\/p>\n
Dollie was blessed to have a wonderful husband and children. Her children made sure their mother\u2019s needs and wants were met. Her son and sons-in-law were the other men in her life that were at her beck and call.<\/p>\n
She was a wonderful, supportive farm wife and mother. She lived on the family farm, east of Lyndon, the majority of her life. She spent her days raising her children, cooking wonderful meals, helping on the farm any way she could, and being active in the women\u2019s groups at the Vassar United Methodist Church, where she was a member. She and Paul enjoyed playing Pitch with friends. She did beautiful embroidery work. She enjoyed watching old TV Westerns and listening to country music, especially Johnny Cash and Loretta Lynn. She enjoyed riding along in the Kubota around the farm and visiting with neighbors. Her favorite color was red, and she loved red roses. She enjoyed the holidays and special times she had together with her family and friends.<\/p>\n
Dollie\u2019s family wants to thank the wonderful staff at Vintage Park at Osage City and Avalon Hospice for their kindness and loving care.<\/p>\n
In addition to her husband, Dollie was also preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings, Charles, Robert and Clifford Burns, Mae Weeks, Clara Bryan, and twin sisters who died shortly after birth.<\/p>\n
She is also survived by her sisters, Donna Hannigan and Eva Anstaett, and her brother, Earl Burns.<\/p>\n
At her request, Dollie will be cremated. A celebration of life service will be held in the spring or summer. Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon, is helping the family with arrangements.<\/p>\n
