LASCASSAS, TENN. \u2014 Donna Jo (Ormsby) Parker Miller died April 16, 2021, at her son\u2019s residence in Lascassas, Tenn., after four years of complications following brain surgery. She was 74 years old.<\/p>\n
Donna was born July 13, 1945, the daughter of Alvin and Leota Ormsby. She lived through many adventures in her life, with the most incredible being the oldest of nine children. She had a variety of jobs during her life, including being a waitress at Dean\u2019s Drive-In in Osage City, a supervisor at the Burlingame Sewing Factory, a waitress at Peggy Sue\u2019s restaurant, a deconner at Wolf Creek Nuclear Station, and a campsite host at campgrounds in numerous states. She loved cooking, bowling, camping, reading, playing cards, travelling, crafting, and was highly skilled with a sewing machine and a crochet hook. She was known for her love of sunflowers, owls and ladybugs. Most importantly, she loved her family. <\/p>\n
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Harold Miller; her parents, Alvin and Leota Ormsby; a sister, Betty Boyce; three brothers, Danny, Jimmy and Jerry Ormsby; and a granddaughter, Elizabeth McGranahan.<\/p>\n
Donna is survived by her children, Tonya (Todd) Newkirk, Lebo, Marsha Gribble, Prairie Village, Tony (Jayne) Parker, Lascassas, Tenn., Jerrold (Rachel) Parker, Osage City, and Cecil Parker, Quenemo; her grandchildren, Trey, Tarika, Blake, Jameson, Katy, Lea, Trisha and Owen; her great-grandchildren, Kingston, Rocklyn, Lowyn, Clara and Laney; a brother, Bill (Shirley) Ormbsy, Olivet; three sisters, Joni Staus, Ottawa, Lois (John) Gutierrez, Dumas, Texas, and Nancy Peters, Lebo; and her partner, Norm Reiger, McAllen, Texas. <\/p>\n
A celebration of life will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday, April 24, at the Osage City Community Building. Please come and share in the love and memories of Donna. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts. <\/p>\n
