She graduated from Melvern High School in 1961. Shortly after graduation, June 18, 1961, Bernice was united in marriage with Larry Alan Lindburg in Melvern. This year would have marked 60 years together.<\/p>\n<p>After finishing his basic training, Larry was stationed to Japan with the U.S. Air Force. During this time, Bernice remained in Melvern with other family members and their young daughter, Arline. Upon Larry\u2019s return to the U.S., the family moved to the Kansas City Metro area where they remained, having two more children, Larry and Brian. They moved into the current family home in 1977.<\/p>\n<p>Bernice enjoyed gardening and spending time with her family. Many card games were played together around the kitchen table. When Arline\u2019s family was living in Europe, Bernice greatly enjoyed visiting them and traveling together, seeing the sights of several countries.<\/p>\n<p>Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, Loid and Beulah Brown, and a son-in-law, Dennis Henderson.<\/p>\n<p>Her memory will live on in the hearts of her husband, Larry A. Lindburg; her children, Arline Henderson, Kearney, Mo., Larry Lindburg Jr., Kansas City, Mo., and Brian Lindburg, Riverside, Mo.; her siblings, Helen Bartlett, Waverly, Deloris Beck, Topeka, Leala Bungart, Topeka, Carol Hardin, Sunrise Beach, Mo., and Lloyd Brown, Scranton; her grandchildren, Josh, Clarissa, Jacob, Nick and Adam; and her great-grandchildren, Payton and Zach.<\/p>\n<p>Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, April 10, at VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, with services immediately following.<\/p>\n<p>In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkinson\u2019s Foundation and sent in care of VanArsdale Funeral Chapel, 107 N. Sixth St., Osage City, KS 66523.
