He was 82.<\/p>\n<p>He was born June 30, 1938, in Overbrook, the son of Fred and Beulah Warren Overbaugh. He lived most of his life in the Vassar community.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie was raised working alongside his dad, at Overbaugh Garage, in Vassar. He was a talented carpenter and he built and remodeled many homes around the area for over 40 years.<\/p>\n<p>He was a volunteer firefighter, became a captain and was on the fire department board of the Lyndon\/Vassar Fire District 5 from 1986 to 2008. He was on the board of Osage Rural Water District 3 and managed the water plant for 20 years. He was a project leader for the Vassar Blue Ribbon 4-H group for 11 years. He was especially proud of being Papa to his grandson, Wyatt and loved attending all of his school and 4-H events.<\/p>\n<p>He married Sharon Cade July 15, 1967, in Quenemo. To this union three daughters were born, Janine, Jolene and Kristen.<\/p>\n<p>He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Beulah; and two infant granddaughters, Gracie Renee Dorr and Emma Grace Dorr.<\/p>\n<p>Charlie is survived by three daughters, Janine Dorr and husband, Dustin, Lebo, Jo Bethell and husband, Jeff, and Kris Overbaugh, all of Melvern; a grandson, Wyatt Dorr; Sharon Overbaugh, Vassar; two sisters, Mary Lou Glover, Burlingame, and Kary Sue Miller and husband, Jim, Hoisington; eight nieces and nephews; other relatives, countless friends and all of his coffee drinking buddies at Lamont Hill.<\/p>\n<p>The public may come in to sign his register book and view Charlie&#8217;s displays 2 to 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 12, at Feltner Funeral Home, Lyndon.
