CARBONDALE \u2014 Larry Lee Hinck, Carbondale, died Tuesday, June 2, 2020. He was 70.<\/p>\n
He was born Aug. 15, 1949, in Harveyville, the son of Kenneth and Lucille Myers Hinck. He graduated from Harveyville High School in 1968 as Valedictorian.<\/p>\n
Larry married Kandy Shively Sept. 12, 1971, in Carbondale. She survives.<\/p>\n
He was a landlord in Carbondale, delivered newspapers for 20 years and was the sexton of Carbondale Cemetery for 35 years. He was on the city council in Carbondale, president of the zoning board, and past member of Carbondale Athletic Association.<\/p>\n
Larry was the local handyman in Carbondale and often repaired items at Casey\u2019s in exchange for coffee. He coached his children in baseball and softball. Larry was frequently found at Casey\u2019s for coffee throughout the day.<\/p>\n
He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, McKenzie Hinck, and a sister Karolin.<\/p>\n
Besides his wife, he is survived by four children, Lonnie Hinck and wife, Kimmy, Brian Hinck and wife, Nicole, Kristi Pickett and wife, Randall, and Holly Hinck; 14 grandchildren, Shelby, Dakota, Andrea, Macy, Savannah, Ashleigh, Alexandrea, Brady, Riley, Bain, Raven, Presley, Camden and Krislynn; and five siblings.<\/p>\n
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, June 9 at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 S.W. Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614.<\/p>\n
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 10 at Carbondale Attendance Center, 315 N. Fourth St., Carbondale KS 66414. Burial will follow in Carbondale Cemetery.<\/p>\n
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, masks are recommended and social distance is absolutely required.<\/p>\n
Memorial contributions may be made to Carbondale Library and sent in care of the at Kevin Brennan Family Funeral Home, 2801 S.W. Urish Road, Topeka KS 66614, because Larry had a love for his grandchildren and the children in the community.<\/p>\n
