Jerry Ray Myers<\/strong><\/p>\n

Oct. 3, 1940 \u2013 Feb. 20, 2020<\/strong><\/p>\n

OVERBROOK \u2014 Jerry Ray Myers, Scranton, died Thursday, Feb. 20, 2020, at Brookside Retirement Community, Overbrook. He was 79.<\/p>\n

He was born Oct. 3, 1940, in Harveyville, the son of Ray and Doris Evans Myers.<\/p>\n

Jerry served over 14 years in the U.S. Navy as a guided missile maintenance technician during the Vietnam War. He then served in the Kansas Army National Guard, at Forbes Field, in Topeka. He was a member of the Scranton VFW.<\/p>\n

He has been married and divorced.<\/p>\n

Jerry is survived by his two sons, David Myers, of California, and Tony Young and wife, Kim, Leavenworth; two daughters, Terri Lee, Osage City, and Lyra-a Spoonemore, Topeka; a brother, Orville Myers and wife, Sandy, Topeka; two sisters, Cheryl Glover and husband, Gerald, and Patty Murray and husband, Steve, all of Topeka; eight grandchildren, Justin (Allison) Lee, Jason (Kellie) Lee, Scylar Spoonemore, Scott Spoonemore, Samantha Spoonemore, Krystal Young, Katelyn Young and Kyle Young; and three great-granddaughters.<\/p>\n

Graveside services for will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 24, at Scranton Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at Feltner Funeral Chapel, Lyndon.<\/p>\n

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and sent in care of Feltner Funeral Home, 818 Topeka Ave., Lyndon, KS 66451.<\/p>\n
